Front List and Backlist Books repurposed into Large Print with POD
For over a decade, bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks has captivated readers with stories that explore the mysteries of the human heart, establishing him as one of the most popular authors of all time. The author of fourteen novels, Sparks is published by Grand Central Publishing, a division of the Hachette Book Group.
The Wedding, Spark’s eighth novel, was published in September 2003. It is a love story about a man who decides to court his wife of thirty years hoping to win her love all over again. The story centers around the planning of the couple’s daughter’s wedding and is a sequel to The Notebook, Sparks’ first novel. Lightning Source is thrilled to announce that The Wedding was the 5,000,000 book manufactured by the Lightning Source Allentown, Pennsylvania plant in June 2009.
In 2003, Grand Central Publishing released a Large Print edition of The Wedding to serve visually impaired individuals. The unique ability to print a single copy of a book when an order is received allows publishers to make many more titles available in large print format. With POD, a file of a book can be reformatted into a large print size by a publisher, and the file held in the Lightning Source digital library until a publisher receives an order. Through POD technology, The Wedding continues to be available to Sparks’ devoted fans.
